The mainstay includes 15, 10" U stakes. If you are just using the Mainstay and/or swing arm, gravel should be fine. If you’re planning to install our Rambler rope bridge, we include six auger stakes and those really do need to be secured into the ground well because of the strain put on the back feet of the mainstay.
